Kiewit Luminarium's GLOW Call for Art

Kiewit Luminarium teamed up with Amplify Arts to open a public call for GLOW, the Luminarium’s annual exhibition of light, art, and science.

GLOW is a joyful exhibition that includes work by regional, national, and international artists working with light as a medium to invite participation, reflection, and connections to STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts and mathematics).

New work by Lincoln- and Omaha/Council Bluffs-area artists was selected for the exhibition through an open call. Selected artists were awarded project budgets in amounts of $7,500 each. GLOW is open November 14th, 2024 through January 26th, 2025 at the Luminarium.

Selected Artists

Buck Christensen is a Nebraska-born artist who creates landscape, floral, abstract, and light painting photography. He is currently a studio artist at the Hoff Center in Council Bluffs, Iowa.

Ken Hill is a multi-disciplined artist specializing in interactive technology, circus performance, and music. He often blends technology with live performances or audience interactions to create immersive experiences.

Lee Emma Running is an Omaha-based artist who creates monumental public installations and arresting sculptures with cast iron, enamel, glass, bone, and handmade paper. She uses this work to engage audiences in conversations about the impact of human-built systems on the natural world.
